Taylor meets Ostin who is pretty much ordinary except for the fact that he (as I said before) has a wide-spread knowledge of electricity. Taylor then tells Michael that she can read people's minds by simply touching them. The next day, Taylor Ridley confronts Michael about what happened, and he confesses that he has powers. He quickly runs away since Taylor Ridley witnessed the incredible feat.
He shocks Jack with is not known electrical powers. Michael gets bullied a lot at school, but one day he gets bullied by a group of bullies including Jack and Wade, who eventually come back in the story. His name is spelled as "Ostin" because his mother had bad spelling and meant to say "Austin" but it became "Ostin". He also has a friend named Ostin Liss who is a total science geek and knows everything about electricity. He has a huge crush on a cheerleader who goes to his school named Taylor Ridley. Whenever Michael gets nervous, he starts getting these nervous ticks which is blinking eyes rapidly or making weird noises. Michael Vey is a normal 14 year old teenager that goes to Meridian High School- at least that's what other people think of him.
